Front Office
Our Front office staff offers you a warm welcome as you arrive at our office; our goal is to be the best part of your day. We have an efficient touch screen self check in system that will notify the the entire staff when you arrive. We realize how valuable your time is and we want to respect that by seeing you on time for your appointment while maintaining the quality of care we feel you deserve.
Susan - Scheduling Coordinator
I’ve been a part of the team since August of 1997. I enjoy my job, welcoming each patient as they come into the office for their appointment. I love seeing familiar faces, the “small world” feeling of the office between families and sharing in stories of their day. It’s nice to work with the same people over the years and see everyone grow and change. When I’m out of the office I enjoy traveling, reading, am a movie buff, and a diehard Red Wings fan-I’ve kissed both the Stanley Cup and the Blarney Stone!
Heather - Insurance Coordinator
I’m the insurance coordinator and also help welcome patients at the front desk. I enjoy interacting with our patients and families and hearing what is new with them each day. I look forward to seeing our patients have their smiles transformed over the course of their treatment. I love that the atmosphere is laid back and fun. I have worked in the dental field since 2004 but have been a part of the Ginzler, Jane and Shaw team since August 2010. Outside of the office, I am married to Brian and we have a daughter Addison, who is the best thing that ever happened to me. We have 2 cats Zoey and Lola. I enjoy rustic camping with no electricity-just a tent, going to concerts, shopping with my mom and daughter and spending time with my family.
Lindsey - Scheduling Coordinator
I love being able to greet patients and see them smile. I’m the newest member of the team starting in September 2010, the office environment is very positive for both employees and patients. Our office has a variety of cool video games, movies and contests for a more exciting experience. When away from the office I enjoy watching sports, such as the Detroit Red Wings, Ohio State and the Detroit Tigers. I spend a lot of time with my dad, friends and my golden retriever/chow mix named Bear. An interesting fact about me is that the veins in my right wrist form the shape of heart.
Treatment Coordinators
At your initial consultation, the treatment coordinators complete a preliminary diagnostic exam to help determine your need for orthodontic treatment. Dr. Shaw, Dr. Jane or Dr. Ginzler will go over this information and discuss if any correction is needed and your treatment options. They’ll review the ideal timing for treatment and the anticipated length of treatment. The treatment coordinator will review payment options, schedule your appointments and answer any other questions.
Jeanne - Treatment Coordinator
I enjoy meeting patients for their first visit and following their progress throughout treatment. The most rewarding thing is seeing how their new smiles positively affect them. We all try to have fun at work and involve the patients so they feel more comfortable. I know I don’t look old enough (LOL), but I have been a part of the team since February 1984. In my spare time I enjoy traveling (especially Las Vegas), bowling, euchre, and spending time with family and friends. I live in Superior Township with my husband Dennis and our child with a tail, Mickey. An interesting fact about me is that I’m famous for my cheesy meatballs-no one can make them like I do.
Linda - Treatment Coordinator
I can’t believe I’ve been a treatment coordinator here at the office for 20 years. It seems like just yesterday that I sat down with my first patient, and now 20 years later I’ve had the privilege of seeing thousand’s of amazing smiles leave our office. I reside in Redford Township with my wonderful husband Mike and our American Bulldog, Maive. I have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren who I adore. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, photography, spending time with the family, and touring the state on the back on Mike’s Harley. P.S. “We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time!” Rock on.
George - Treatment Coordinator
I enjoy meeting patients and finding out their interests. I love seeing the changes in their smiles and their confidence increasing, knowing that I was a part of the positive change in their life. I’ve been with the team since September 1989. I have a son who lives in California and my dog Bella a Toy Terrapoo. In my spare time I love to travel, work in the garden, sell Scentsy candles and have Tastefully Simple parties.
Clinical Assistants
Our highly trained experienced orthodontic assistants work alongside the doctors to check your oral hygiene, braces and appliances before your prescribed treatment. They perform the technical skills assisting Drs. Ginzler, Jane and Shaw during treatment. The doctors will then check and make any necessary refinements, monitor your progress and prescribe future treatment. The assistants will be able to answer most of your questions during treatment. We encourage parents to accompany your child in the treatment area during each visit.
Dawn - Clinical Coordinator
I enjoy helping patients feel comfortable and watching them look in the mirror at the deband appointment and see the beautiful smile they will have for the rest of their lives. I am the practical joker of the office and I’ve been a part of the team since February 1994. I’m a proud mom of two daughters, Courtney, who is at Western Michigan College, and daughter Lindsey, who is a student at Stevenson high school here in Livonia. My extended family is 4 pets, a German Sheppard, Tigger, 2 Shih Tzu’s, Cocoa and Max and a guinea pig named Dolly. I enjoy anything outdoors, gardening and walking my dogs. I also enjoy attending sporting events with my family.
Nora - Orthodontic Assistant
I love to talk with the patients and find out activities, sports or other things they are involved in. All the patients and parents love the video games, contests and movies. I have been here with the team since May 1989. Happily married to Ron for 12 years, we have 3 children, a son and 2 daughters and a Saint Bernard named Cooper. My free time consists of exercising, boating, scrapbooking, watching my son play hockey and my two daughters figure skate.
Susie - Orthodontic Assistant
I love getting to know all the patients. Being able to work with people of all ages makes my job enjoyable. I have been with the team since October of 1997. I’m in a happy relationship of 15 years, and proud to say I have two children that are in college. I enjoy relaxing and watching movies in my spare time, and spending time with my kids when they are home. I enjoy the outdoors and love being around people and making them laugh.
Jess - Orthodontic Assistant
I enjoy getting to know our patients and provide them with compassionate treatment. I learn something new each day from them and enjoy my interactions with the patients. We try to make it fun for the patients and get them to participate in fun contests and win great prizes. I’ve been a part of the team since May of 2003. I enjoy spending time with my husband, my cat Cleo and our friends and family. In my down time I love to read, travel and camp.
Holly - Orthodontic Assistant
I enjoy interacting with our patients, and talking with kids about their involvement in sports, crafts, vacations & holiday events. Seeing our patient’s transformation and being able to interact personally while helping them achieve a more beautiful smile is the most fulfilling part of my job. I’ve been a part of the team since April of 2005. I became a first time mom in March of 2009 to Shelby Ilye. I reside in Garden City with my daughter and two boxers, Leo and Lacey. I also enjoy art, decorating, scrapbooking, camping and traveling.
Angela - Orthodontic Assistant
I love to interact with patients of all ages and be able to share their excitement over their new smiles! I’ve been a team member since August 2005. My husband’s name is Mike and we love attending Nascar races, and country music concerts. We share our home with our two pet turtles Riley and Ruby. I love reading mystery books, and working outside in my yard planting flowers. Recycling and helping the environment is a big part of our lives, so I started the green movement here at the office and organized a work recycling program- it’s going great!
Julie - Orthodontic Assistant
My favorite thing is getting to know the patients on a personal level, from the start of treatment thru to the end when they feel awesome about their new smile! I started working in the orthodontic field in 1999 at a different office, I thought I knew all there was to know. When I came to this office in October of 2005 there was so much more to learn and both doctors are such wonderful teachers. I live in Garden City with my dog Precious. I enjoy spending time with my new nephew and friends. I love to see live music, enjoy movies, watching basketball, Grey’s Anatomy, and I’m an avid Twilight fan.
Rayanne - Orthodontic Assistant
My experiences are still somewhat new at the office since I hopped on board in May 2010. Working chair side is the best part of my job; it gives me the most time to interact with patients. I love to watch them transform and grow into their award winning smile. Our office offers a unique opportunity to join in the fun with our group on facebook, check us out! Outside the office I share time with Marcus, my boyfriend of 3 years. We enjoy laughing and having fun with friends and family. I enjoy drawing, singing, church and being silly.
Melanie - Orthodontic Assistant
I love seeing the changes in a patient’s throughout treatment and their excitement when they see their new smile for the first time and being a part of the process. Dr. Shaw, Dr. Jane and Dr. Ginzler are up-to-date and have the latest technology! I’ve been working in the orthodontic field since 1996 and thought I knew just about all there was to know, there so much more to learn! I have been a part of the team since July 2010. When not at the office, I love to spend time with my wonderful husband Samuel of over 10 years, and our children Samuel, Isaiah, Joshua and daughter Madya. We enjoy traveling, church activities, and making music, of which we play the piano and violin.
Laboratory Technicians
Here at Drs. Shaw & Ginzler's orthodontic office, we're extremely proud to be able to have our own in-house lab. This enables us to fabricate the majority of our orthodontic appliances on site, all our own models, appliances, retainers and indirect bonding trays (braces). This gives us the ability to deliver your appliances in a timely manner, sometimes even the same day to prevent any delays in treatment.
Bob - Laboratory Technician
I work behind the scenes fabricating all the appliances and retainers for patients to the doctors’ specifications. I love hearing that they fit perfectly! I know when patients leave here their smile will look like a million bucks! I have been with the team since June 1995. In my spare time I spend time with my wife Lauren and sons Brandon and Ryan. I like to golf, boat, fly remote control airplanes, and plan on sending in a video tape to be on Survivor!
Andi - Laboratory Tech / Records Coordinator
In the lab I help with the preparation of the patient’s braces, knowing that I’m a part of their changing smiles makes it rewarding! I wear several hats in the office, and I love it! It keeps me busy and makes my job interesting. I like to talk with our patients to find out their interests. The office is great and we have so many fun personalities and all work well as a team! We offer a lot of fun things in the office to keep kids excited. I have been with the team since May 2004. In my off time I enjoy rollerblading, reading, going out with friends, dancing and karaoke.
Support Staff
Our business staff takes care of all the hidden details. Designing and producing all our informative handouts, organizing events and contests. They organize our community service activities and work with the local dentists to keep them informed about our latest orthodontic techniques.
Roxy - Office Manager
I love being the support for the entire staff, Most of the staff have been together for years, we are like an extended family. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone here makes an effort to work as a team! I enjoy interacting with all the patients and parents and see the excitement of when they get their braces off! I have been a part of the team since May of 1988. Outside the office I spend time with my husband Dane, 2 kids Danyelle and Dane and dog Athena, a Bull Mastiff. I enjoy working in the yard, doing home improvements, watching the Red Wings, and reading mystery/true crime stories.
Lauren - Financial Coordinator
Our office is very fun and relaxed it’s a pleasure to come to work each day. I really enjoy meeting new people and talking with the patients and parents. Typically I talk with parents setting up financial arrangements. I have been part of the team since October 1992. When out of the office I spend time with my husband Bob, two sons, Ryan and Brandon, daughters in law Jen and Danielle, and grand puppy Bentley. I also enjoy boating, shopping, decorating our home and watching General Hospital.
Bill - Bookkeeper
I enjoy the office environment, having worked in the big “corporate” world most of my career, my schedule is very flexible which is great! Everyone in the office is very friendly, and they get the job done well. I have been with the team since November of 2001. When not in the office my wife Julie and I live in Livonia and we enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with our grandson Max, and our new black lab “Sadie”.
Jim - Graphic designer
I enjoy creating the quarterly contests and graphics for the office, turning a design from concept to the printed piece. Everyone in the staff is very friendly. I’ve been with the team since October of 2008. When out of the office I enjoy spending time with my wife Arlene, and our new golden retriever Charlie. I’m and artist and love to paint portraits, enjoy cycling, and am a remodeling junkie.
