SPEED BRACES -VS- TRADITIONAL BRACES
SPEED braces are the braces we use for our patients. The SPEED bracket is a self ligating bracket, with an active spring clip to hold the wire into place. The SPEED bracket is smaller and sleek than traditional braces, making them less noticeable, easier to clean and more comfortable. Old fashioned, traditional brackets require elastic ties to hold in the wires which wear out and collect plaque. These elastics stretch out, losing their effectiveness and need to be replaced, requiring additional office visits. The spring clip reduces don’t wear out which means that you'll need fewer adjustments and fewer trips to the office.
Clear Braces
In-Ovation braces are translucent ceramic; they allow the natural color of your teeth to show through. Lingual braces
Lingual braces are braces are bonded to the back of your teeth making them completely invisible. These braces are custom made specifically for your teeth. Dr. Shaw is one of the few orthodontist in the area trained to use these types of brackets. Lingual braces are ideal for teens and adults who desire to have orthodontic treatment that is unnoticeable to others.
Adult Treatment
Adults can wear braces; it doesn’t matter whether you are 25 years old or 90, as long as you have healthy teeth, gums and bone tissue. When your teeth are straight and they fit together properly and you have a much better chance of keeping your teeth for the rest of your life.
