Suresmile® creates a 3-D digital model of your teeth from the SureSmile® scan that we perform at our office. With this virtual 3-D model of your teeth, Drs. Shaw and Jane can see your teeth and how they fit together from every angle, even from behind and the inside.
Drs. Shaw and Jane move your teeth on the virtual model to the exact position they belong. From this we are able to calculate the precise adjustments to accomplish treatment plan to achieve the beautiful smile you desire.
The measurements from Drs. Shaw and Jane's treatment plan are used to program a wire-bending robot to fabricate a customized shape-memory wire with the ideal position of your teeth programmed into the wire. This precision was never possible before SureSmile®. These memory arch wires move your teeth directly to the prescribed position; although the teeth don’t actually move faster, they move much more efficiently since the final position has already be calculated.

Step one: Advanced Imaging
SureSmile® creates a 3-D computer model of your bite by using advanced imaging technology to scan your teeth. The 3-D image can be captured with the OraScanner® or Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). The scanning procedure is the beginning of your SureSmile® treatment.
Step two: Prescriptive Planning
With the 3-D model, the doctor can now see your teeth from any angle and how they fit together. SureSmile® Treatment Planning software provides virtual simulation tools that allow your doctor to determine the final position of your teeth and the most effective plan for your unique treatment needs.
Step three: Robotic Accuracy
Once your treatment plan is determined, SureSmile® directs a robot to bend a shape memory alloy archwire according to your doctor’s prescription. This wire is designed to deliver gentle forces needed to move your teeth consistently and directly to their desired finishing position.
