Dr. Jane was born February 16, and grew up in Edenville, Michigan — a small community located near Midland. She spent her childhood swimming, boating, and ice skating on Sanford Lake, in addition to performing as a gymnast in national competitions. Her summers were spent in a motor home traveling to various place, such as Williamsburg, Virginia and Mount Rushmore.
By age 13, Dr. Jane wanted to pursue a career as an orthodontist. She studied biology at the University of Iowa after graduating from Meridian High School. She returned to Michigan to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Jane was then awarded a scholarship in dental school with the United States Navy, and served aboard the USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) in Norfolk, Virginia. She was responsible for the dental health of 650 Sailors and Marines on her own ship, as well as the sailors of six other ships, all while traveling through the Panama Canal, South America, and around Western Africa. She then returned once again to the University of Michigan for her Master of Science in Orthodontics.
She practice in South Lake Tahoe, California for seven years before joining the practice of Dr. Shaw and Dr. Ginzler.
Dr. Jane is considered an expert in SureSmile and lingual technology, and often attends conferences and seminars to further her education in new orthodontic technology. She has been on the SureSmile Clinical Advisory Board since 2006.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jane enjoys being on the water, playing tennis, skiing, and traveling to new places.
