“I’ve been blessed over the years to be able to watch the transformation in confidence and self-esteem that comes from patients having orthodontic treatment to straighten their teeth.”
- Dr. Randall Shaw
Dr. Shaw was born May 25, and grew up in Farmington Hills. He attended school there, and graduated from Harrison High School. He then entered the undergraduate psychology program at the University of Michigan.
After only three years, Dr. Shaw was one of the few students accepted into dental school without needing to complete his undergraduate degree. At the University of Michigan, he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Immediately afterwards he was able to begin his Orthodontic Residency at Washington university in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated with his Master of Science in Orthodontics.
After completing his training, Dr. Shaw joined the practice of his father, Dr. Alfred Shaw, and Dr. James Ginzler. Today that practice is Drs. Shaw and Jane Orthodontics.
Dr. Shaw was one of the first orthodontists in the state of Michigan to be certified in the use of SureSmile 3D technology. He is also one of the only orthodontists in the country thoroughly qualified to use lingual braces. He frequently attends conferences to further educate himself on new technology, and is one of the original members of the SureSmile Faculty and Clinical Advisory Board.
Dr. Shaw loves practicing orthodontics because it allows him to interact with patients while devloping a beautiful smile and improved self-confidence.
On his days off, Dr. Shaw likes exercising, yoga, skiing, and race-car driving. He has driven a Spec Miata and won numerous championships.
He and his wife Hillary have two daughters, Lindsey and Melanie.
