Positioners complete the final tooth movements in your treatment. Positioners work like retainers, and you should only need to wear the positioner appliance for four to eight weeks.
Retainers hold your teeth in their new, correct positions after your braces are removed. We will instruct you on how to care for your retainer and how long to wear it. Wearing your retainer as directed is crucial to prevent regression of your treatment. You will begin wearing your retainer full time, removing it only to eat and brush. After a while, we will instruct you to cut down the use of your retainer.
If your retainer ever breaks, or does not fit correctly, please call our office.
Separators or Spacers
Separators may be placed between your teeth to push them apart so that orthodontic bands may be placed at your next appointment.
